Lors de cette représentation unique, elle présentera un univers singulier mêlant théâtre d’ombres, théâtre physique, créatures insolites et récits absurdes. À PROPOS DU SPECTACLE Cuillères à la ceinture, trois cents ans dans le futur, al & dog et leur troupe de saltimbanques complices ont parcouru des distances incalculables. Leur voyage est guidé, par intermittence, par un ours, une sorcière du temps et un mystérieux, malicieux et minuscule Homme-Chou. Sans cesse poursuivie par des fourmis et éternellement égarée, cette bande itinérante semble toujours finir par être transportée sur des nuages jusqu’à notre époque. À PROPOS D’AL&DOG al&dog est un projet solo d’art performatif réunissant al, Dog, Horse, Jonathan, Priscilla, Fred, plusieurs fourmis et divers interlocuteurs occasionnels. Veuillez noter que Dog est tout à fait réel — et qu’il ne faut jamais lui dire le contraire —, bien qu’il n’ait aucune fonction corporelle et soit entièrement constitué de tissu de coton et de rembourrage en polyester. Il en va de même pour tous les autres individus mentionnés, à l’exception d’al. À travers la composition de fragments, le théâtre d’ombres, le théâtre physique et la présence de diverses créatures non humaines, animées ou inanimées, al&dog joue avec le langage et le geste pour créer des non-récits absurdes. Une occasion rare de découvrir une proposition artistique venue des États-Unis, poétique, étrange et délicieusement imprévisible. –––––––––––––––––––– ENGLISH VERSION TRANSPORTED BY CLOUDS TO THE PRESENT A performance by al&dog September 2 at 8 p.m. Salle Simon-Drouin — La Charpente des fauves Sliding scale: $10 · $15 · $20 Running time: 30 minutes Performance in English For one exceptional evening, La Charpente des fauves welcomes al&dog, an artist from West Virginia, USA, for a unique performance combining shadow puppetry, physical theatre, unusual creatures, and absurdist storytelling. ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE Spoons at the waist, three hundred years from now, al & dog and their conspiring barnstormers have travelled uncountable lengths on their voyage, guided sporadically by a bear, a weather witch, and a mysterious, mischievous, and minuscule Cabbage Man. Perpetually pursued by ants and eternally lost, the peregrinate band always seems to find itself transported by clouds to the present. ABOUT AL&DOG al&dog is a solo performance art project comprising al, Dog, Horse, Jonathan, Priscilla, Fred, several ants, and occasional other interlocutors. Please note that Dog is very real—and should never be told otherwise—although he has no bodily functions and consists entirely of cotton fabric and polyester stuffing. The same is true of everyone else mentioned, with the exception of al. Rooted in the composition of fragments, al&dog’s performance practice incorporates shadow puppetry, physical theatre, and other creatures of the nonhuman and (in)animate variety. Through language and gesture, the project creates playful, absurdist non-narratives. A rare opportunity to discover a poetic, strange, and delightfully unpredictable performance from the United States.
